The Abu Dhabi University Knowledge Group has organised a business networking event, entitled “Innovations Forum Directors Dinner”, in the eve of the Abu Dhabi Innovation Forum 2010 made specifically for local businesses and associations for building a culture of innovation.

Headed by Dr. Nabil Ibrahim, Abu Dhabi University Chancellor, the event was attended by more than 100 high-level executives from the government and private sectors.

Also in attendance were the keynote speakers of the Abu Dhabi Innovation Forum 2010 such as the world-renowned innovator Professor Arcot Desai Narasimhalu, Director of Innovation & Entrepreneurship and Chairman of The Business Innovation Generator, Singapore Management University; and Dr Thomas Andersson, President, International Organisation for Knowledge Economy and Enterprise Development (IKED). Both Professor Narasimhalu and Dr. Andersson talked about successful innovations that can be used to benchmark and qualify new innovations to drive economic success.

“Innovation is becoming increasingly essential and being considered as a key contributor to organisational success. It is also one of the core processes that every organisation should employ to sustain competitive advantage,” said Rory Hendrikz, Director for Institute for Executive Development (IED), a company under the Abu Dhabi University Knowledge Group.

“In line with the vision of Abu Dhabi University and Abu Dhabi University Knowledge Group, we aim to provide a platform for the communication of new ideas that will help develop young entrepreneurs and the private sector to bring innovation in established businesses in the country,” he added.

Among the companies who attended the dinner was Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development and a number of leading public and private companies in Abu Dhabi.
