Bawadi Mall’s 42-day “Celebrate with Flowers” festival concluded on December 31, by attracting 1300,000 visitors came from Al Ain, Abu Dhabi and other emirates as well as Oman.
Khalid Shraim, Marketing Manager, Bawadi Mall, said: “We are pleased with the response. Our tenants too reported increased traffic during the festival which was organized in keeping with our goal of providing a unique shopping experience with a focus on family entertainment. We use festivals as a crucial part of our marketing strategy and we think that festivals are part of the shopping mall culture in the UAE.”
Bawadi Mall, which has been positioned as Al Ain’s ultimate shopping, dining and leisure destination, has hosted an international Egyptian Circus from the 27th of November until the 4th of December, 2009, covering Eid Adha and The UAE National Day period. This programme targeted both adults and children. The mall also distributed flowers on the first two days of Eid Adha to lady visitors.
The Food and Agriculture Festival 2009 was also organized by the Faculty of Food and Agriculture in the UAE University and Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, highlighting the importance of eating healthy food. The festival opened with a march of children and adults that snowballed when it reached the stage.
Shraim added: “The 42-day festival was designed to enhance the image of Al Ain as a leading tourism and shopping destination in the region. We distributed flowers to ladies in the mall and decorated the mall with flowers all the way up to the 31st of December.”
Shraim said events like these added a marketing value to the commercial stores apart from providing entertainment to visitors and shoppers.
Shraim added: “Bawadi Mall houses a mix of international as well as regional retail brands of fashion, food, jewellery and much more, all in a bright, spacious and inviting environment, distinguished by a wide curved vaulted skylight that soars above the main corridor and its main three spacious courts.”
