Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), which manages, promotes and develops the emirate’s tourism industry in collaboration with sector stakeholders, has achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification of its Enterprise Quality Management System following a year-long development and implementation programme.
Certification was presented to ADTA’s Chairman, His Excellency Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan by Basem Obaid, Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance General Manager – Middle East & Africa.
Certification, which covers all ADTA’s activities both tourism operations and support services, follows a series of ISO audits carried out by Lloyd’s Register in addition, ADTA has ensured a number of its staff from various departments are now trained to conduct internal quality audits.
“Audit training of staff ensures the authority is following its service improvement plans to maintain its award-winning Quality Management System standard and allows the improvement process to continue,” said Sheikh Sultan.
The ISO 9001:2008 certification is an integral element of ADTA’s overall programme aimed at delivering organisational excellence based on the Abu Dhabi Award For Excellence In Government Performance model.
