Crowne Plaza & Staybridge Suites Abu Dhabi Yas Island embarked on a blood donation campaign today that gave both hotel’s employees the opportunity to donate blood at the Abu Dhabi Blood Bank’s (ADBB) mobile blood bank unit.

Dieter Franke, General Manager of Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi Yas Island said, “The campaign reflects the drive of Crowne Plaza & Staybridge Suites Abu Dhabi Yas Island to support the local community in their humanitarian endeavours.”

The campaign is in aid of patients receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer or other diseases such as sickle cell and Thalassemia. ADBB supports public and private hospitals in Abu Dhabi as blood transfusions often are needed for trauma victims due to accidents and burns, heart surgery, and organ transplants.

The one-day event was held in front of Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi Yas Island. The mobile blood bank is a state-of-the-art bus equipped with the latest blood donation equipment under the guidance of Dr. Naima Oumeziane and her colleagues from Sheikh Khalifa Medical City.
