Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club is opening the new Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Polo Field on 13th of November 2009 under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Falah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club.

H.H. Sheikh Falah Bin Sultan Al Nahyan is hosting a festive event to celebrate the inauguration of the new Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Polo Field.

This new polo field is the first of its kind in the world to have a fully equipped grandstand capable of accommodating over 2000 spectators with press and media facilities, VIP lounge and business center.

The opening event will include a world class 13 handicap polo match featuring professional polo players from UAE and Argentina.

Adults, teenagers and children are all welcome with their friends and families to join this festive day on the 13th of November from 3:30 p.m. onwards at Ghantoot and enjoy the various carnival activities including marshal by the police band, traditional Ayalla & Yola dancing, horseback and camel riding, clowns, jugglers, fire blowers, stilt walkers, and a stage magic show, DJ, and live concert with Rida Al Abdulla and Carol Saker.

This event promises to please an audience from all age levels, with a variety of entertainment selected to reflect the pleasant and hospitable nature of Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club and leave a memorable impression for our guests- Said Howaida Rabee, Partner – C&H communications the event managers of the event.

The Polo match will be broadcasted live on Dubai Racing TV, the media partner of this event. This event is under the sponsorship of Damas Jewelry and Chartered Ghantoot.

Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club was established in year 1997 and was the brainchild of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan “ peace be upon his soul”. This club puts Abu Dhabi and the U.A.E. on the global map in the polo world as Ghantoot has seven grass polo fields, all built to international standards, three of which are floodlit making Ghantoot one of the world’s best polo clubs and certainly the best within the Middle East and the Arab world.

This new polo field will be hosting the President’s Cup, an international show jumping competition; in addition, to the President’s Polo Cup, Emirates Open Polo Cup, and Ghantoot Golden Polo Cup and many more during the 2009-2010 polo season.
