The Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation (ADMAF) and New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that foresees the development of common educational initiatives in the fields of arts, culture and creativity. With this MoU, ADMAF takes another step towards its goal to expand the scope of its educational programme which seeks to provide young Emiratis with the tools and opportunities to enhance their skills.

The MoU will pave the way for the implementation of programmes that foster independent and creative thinking as well as leadership skills among young students. These will include study abroad and student exchange programmes which would enhance cultural understanding among local students and promote Abu Dhabi’s vision of becoming a bridge between various cultures ; cultural research projects that would involve national and regional students; the presentation of activities in the field of art in local schools; the creation of internship positions for NYUAD students at ADMAF; and cooperation in the organization of cultural events, exhibitions and conferences.

Mrs. Hoda Al Khamis Kanoo, Founder of the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation, said:

“The Memorandum of Understanding we signed with the New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) today will strengthen our comprehensive educational programme that forms the backbone of all our endeavours in the fields of arts and culture. Supporting initiatives that encourage aspiring artists, provide young students with the tools to develop creative, independent thinking and enhance cultural understanding are key to promoting arts and culture in our country remain committed to cooperate with various educational and community organisations to achieve this goal. I am confident that our youth will greatly benefit from the fruits of this cooperation.”

NYUAD has been established in Abu Dhabi as a university with fully integrated liberal arts and science college . New York University (NYU) and New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) form the backbone of an organically connected Global Network University. The Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two organizations comes as part of ADMAF’s efforts to establish sustainable cooperation in the area of cultural education with leading institutions in the UAE with the aim of raising cultural awareness and advancing arts and culture in the country.
