Abu Dhabi University (ADU) has announced that Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, offered Dh1million grant to the Donors’ fund at ADU.
The fund was set up by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of Ruler in Western Region and President of the University Board of Trustees ’&’ Governors of ADU, to build a bridge between the university and societal institutions. The grant aims at encouraging talented students to further develop their abilities and creativity.
Sheikha Fatima hailed Sheikh Hamdan’s initiative, which will assist students and support their researches in various fields to meet requirements of different developmental institutions in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The grant is the first of its kind to be received by the donors’ fund from a dignitary or institution in the UAE, ADU lauded the donation of Sheikha Fatima, adding that the amount will be disbursed to the talented students to enable them excel to contribute in prosperity being experienced by the UAE under wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
