Flash Entertainment, the Abu Dhabi-based events company, today confirmed that the world’s first ever F1 Fan Zone™, brought to you by Mubadala, will open to the public on the Corniche this coming Friday - 16 October 2009. F1 Fan Zone™ Abu Dhabi is part of the Yasalam celebrations which are helping to bring Abu Dhabi to life ahead of this month ahead of the 2009 Formula 1™ Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Abu Dhabi is providing one of the most diverse and ambitious city-wide entertainment programmes an F1™ host city has ever presented and the F1 Fan Zone™ is a core part of this. The line-up of entertainment at the F1 Fan ZoneTM offers a diverse array of activities to appeal to all nationalities, cultures and ages.

The fun starts with life size Holograms of Scuderia Ferrari drivers Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen welcoming you as you enter the Mubadala Interactive zone.Visitors can then move through to the action where they will find:
The Ferrari Pit-Stop challenge which will give visitors the chance to experience the excitement and thrill of the pit as well as to understand the skills involved by the pit-stop team in this essential part of the race. Visitors will be able to test their mechanical skills as they become part of the Scuderia Ferrari pit-stop team, changing tyres and refuelling a real Ferrari F1TM car up against the clock. To top it off visitors will be invited to test their reaction skills with a Batak reaction test and see how they fare against the official drivers.

Key photo opportunities will be available at both the Show car kiosk where real F1TM cars will be on show including a Scuderia Ferrari F1TM Show Car and at the Podium Photo Finish where we will invite visitors to take first place on the podium with an F1TM trophy in hand complete with the glamour of F1TM Fan Zone Grid Girls.
Driver appearances will take place on Thursday 29th October from some of the world’s most exciting F1 drivers including Robert Kubica (BMW)., Viantonio Liuzzi Force (India F1)and Christian Klein (BMW Sauber). Fans will be able to get autographs on the day.

For adults and children there will be the unique chance to learn more about motor sport in the F1 Education area- the history, dynamics, rules and regulations of Formula 1 will be covered off for those keen to learn more.
For those enthusiastic about the history of F1TM there will be a digital gallery showcased on touch screens featuring official F1 FanZone TM memorabilia including a wide range of images showcasing the work of Formula 1 teams and drivers. Also on show will be official footage of the Scuderia Ferrari F1 showing what these amazing machines are capable of achieving.

As part of Yasalam’s ambition to offer a line up of entertainment that delivers something for everyone, a specially created F1TM Kids Zone brought to you by The Emirates Foundation will be run from Friday 16th October through till Sunday 1st November. A wide array of family fun will be on offer including face painting, a temporary- tattoo booth.

And for those wanting to get competitive with their friends and family there will be the chance to race Scalextric cars on a Giant Scalextric track set up across a multi- lane circuit. They will also have the opportunity to try out the Grand Prix racing pod simulators and Ferrari simulators courtesy of Mubadala and feel the sensation of being a real F1TM driver.

Continuing the Yasalam series of customised life size replica Formula 1TMcars by local artists, the fourth car designed by Jalal Luqman will be displayed with live painting sessions over the opening weekend (16th October- Sunday 18th October).
