The Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, owned by ADNEC (Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company), will be the host venue for the inaugural Middle East edition of SIAL, the world’s largest exhibition for the global food industry.
To be held from 15 to 17 November 2010, SIAL Middle East 2010 will bring together professionals involved in buying and selling food products and services to see new ideas, innovations and conduct domestic and international business.
SIAL, one of the world’s leading trade exhibitions for those involved in the food industry, was created in 1964. Held every two years in Paris, it attracts more than 147,000 visitors from 185 countries who come to meet over 5,500 exhibitors from 101 countries.
SIAL Middle East will be the latest event to join SIAL Group, the SIAL network of exhibitions which are presently held in Paris, Shanghai, Montreal and Buenos Aires.
“The rapidly changing food marketplace means that there is a real need to expose the latest trends, innovations, and equipment” says Bernard Becker, Chairman of Comexposium, the organisers of SIAL. “The Middle East is one of the most buoyant markets and we look forward to introducing the brand in Abu Dhabi, the UAE capital”.
“We are very pleased to be chosen as the host venue for this important industry event and believe SIAL Middle East is an excellent new addition to the expanding portfolio of exhibitions hosted at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre,” said Paul Vincent, Marketing Director of ADNEC (Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company).
“ADNEC looks forward to contributing to the success of the event and will continue to provide the highest levels of professional support to make SIAL Middle East, as well as the other events we are chosen to host, successful and memorable for everyone involved," he added
SIAL Middle East will be run by Turret Middle East, one of the leading exhibition organisers in the region. “We are pleased to partner Comexposium to launch SIAL Middle East which will take a new approach to marrying buyers and sellers in the region” says Richard Hease, Chairman of Turret Middle East.
Manufacturers and suppliers to the food and food related industries will be invited to participate in a strategic and highly focused event, where selected buyers will be hosted as guests of SIAL Middle East. Buyers have been, and will continue to be, identified by level of activity and sector in a project that will mark its debut with a Food Buyer Program designed to facilitate high level, quality business meetings.
Discussions are also underway to bring new aspects and topics in the food industry to the regional audience through conference and feature elements.
