The third periodic meeting of the National Human Rights Institution UAE Board of Trustees, headed by Maqsoud Kruse, Chairperson of the NHRI, convened on Wednesday, February 23rd, in Abu Dhabi, as part of the periodic meetings to follow up and examine what has been achieved in the 100-day institutional and organisational plan.
During the meeting, the memberships of the six permanent committees were approved and commissioned to work on setting their goals and operational plans.
Additionally, the members of the committees were briefed on the updated amendments to the internal rules and regulations. The meeting has also discussed insights and perceptions about human rights files, as well as the existing preparations for launching the NHRI official interactive website and its platforms on social media.
Established by Federal Law No. (12) of 2021, NHRI UAE is an independent national entity, and its work charter is based on the Paris Principles for NHRIs Act of 1993, and relevant international treaties and conventions.
