The Board of Trustees of the National Center for Meteorology and Seismology (DAS), chaired by H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs endorsed a regulation on charges for the meteorological and seismological services, as of Aug. 2, 2009.

The regulations aim to recover part of the service costs provided by the Center to the beneficiary sectors in line with the international policies framework adopted by the World Meteorological Organization on the recovery the service costs.

Executive Director of DAS, HE Abdullah Ahmad Almandos, said that pursuant to the agreement with the World Meteorological Organization and the Arab League, regarding the establishment of regional centers specializing in atmospheric studies to be based in Abu Dhabi, the World Meteorological Organization has deputised one of its experts accompanied by the Regional Director of the World Meteorological Organization Office in Bahrain to visit the Center to discuss the necessary arrangements in this regard.
