(29 September 2009)

Abu Dhabi Police are mulling over implementation of the Japanese Traffic System in the emirate of Abu Dhabi to deal with the traffic jam, reduce carbon emissions and match the population and economic growth.

Col. Engineer Hussein Al Harethi, Director of the Department of Traffic and Roads Safety at Abu Dhabi Police, said that the Japanese traffic system could help in dealing with pedestrians and motorists in cases of catastrophes, indicating that the plan focuses on directing public and motorists to safe roads and sites to reduce damages.

He referred to the directives of Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister His Highness Lt.
