The Emirates News Agency has boosted its services to the United States and Latin America following a cooperation agreement the agency signed with Topix, one of the world’s most important news portals. The move aims at expanding further WAM services to thousands of media houses and millions of internet visitors worldwide.

Based on the agreement, Topix will transmit on its portal WAM’s daily news bulletin in North America and Latin America to boost the agency’s efforts to reach wider audience and viewers in various parts of the world. The cooperation agreement is expected to rope-in about 360,000 subscribers for WAM news and millions of daily visitors to WAM website.

The new move which depends on advanced technology is in line with the directives of Labour Minister and Chairman of the National Media Council, Saqr Ghobash.

According to WAM IT director, Ahmed Najib, the worldwide popularity of Topix will expose UAE news to millions of subscribers and visitors to the portal from various parts of the world, adding that Topix boasts of a giant search engine with a capacity of more than 50,000 sources of information which enable visitors to research in wide range of issues and subjects.
