Baker Hughes announced that it has moved its Surface Pressure Control Projects business (SPC Projects)headquarters from Houston to Abu Dhabi, bringing its operations closer to some of the company’s strategic customers and oil producers globally. The move will ensure better alignment on strategy, decision-making and implementation of projects.
The announcement comes during the same week as the virtual ADIPEC 2020 event and builds on Baker Hughes’ 2019 opening of awellheads facility in Abu Dhabi.By bringing the headquarters closer to one of its largestPressure Control manufacturing sites in Saudi Arabia, the SPC Projects businesswill be better suited for future growth and expansion.
SPC Projects is a part of the Oilfield Equipment segment of Baker Hughes. The business provides surface and subsea wellheads, surface pressure control equipment, subsea well intervention solutions and related services and connectors with facilities are in the Middle East, Mexico, Singapore and China.The new SPC Projectsheadquarters in Abu Dhabi will deepen collaboration with regional leaders for technology and R&D in the oilfieldequipment space, enhance local skills and bring more operational expertise to the UAE,contributing to the region’s manufacturing, engineering and sourcing capabilities.
