The registration for "The Circle" Conference is open until September 15, announced Issa Al Mazrouei, Director of Special Projects in the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH).
The conference will be held in October 9-11, 2009 within the Middle East International Film Festival, which is organised by ADACH from October 8-17.
"The conference, organised by the Abu Dhabi Film Commission in partnership with the Imagenation Abu Dhabi, will host this year’s special discussion forums on the participation of women in movies and the presentation of clips from films written, directed and produced by women from the UAE, the Middle East and the rest of the World in addition to numerous workshops," added Al Mazrouei.
The final selection of the honored guests, speakers and participants in the discussions and the six contestants who qualify to the final stage of the Shasha Grant (Screen Grant) in addition to the final schedule of the events will be announced during a news conference in Toronto International Film Festival in September 13, 2009.
Abu Dhabi Film Commission has reached the last stage of selecting the six qualifiers to the final, out of 85 participants in the Shasha Grant script writing competition.
The Commission will invite the finalists to Abu Dhabi to attend The Circle Conference and participate in all its events.
The winner will receive a prize of 100 thousand US dollars and a chance of the film to be financed by Imagenation Abu Dhabi.
