The Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) has hosted a visiting group of 50 senior Emiratis, members of the Sharjah Social Services Department branch in Dibba Al-Hisn, at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The group had previously expressed interest in learning about the UAE Peaceful Nuclear Energy Program and visiting ENEC’s headquarters.
His Excellency Eng. Mohamed Al Hammadi, Chief Executive Officer of ENEC, welcomed the senior Emiratis along with members of ENEC’s management and representatives from its subsidiaries, the Nawah Energy Company (Nawah) and Barakah One Company (BOC). The visiting group was briefed on the importance of the UAE Peaceful Nuclear Energy Program, as well as the latest developments at the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant currently under construction and commissioning in the Al Dhafra Region of Abu Dhabi Emirate.
H.E. Eng. Mohamed Al Hammadi, CEO of ENEC, said: “I am delighted to witness the high level of interest in the UAE Peaceful Nuclear Energy Program amongst senior Emiratis. This is reflective of the pride with which UAE citizens and residents across the country regard the development of the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant, the first project of its kind in the Arab World.”

As a result, the UAE program has been recognized as international role model for the development of a safety and quality led nuclear energy industry,” added H.E. Eng. Al Hammadi.
The senior Emiratis visit to ENEC’s headquarters included a number of informative sessions and briefings with experts from ENEC, Nawah and Barakah One Company, who highlighted the benefits of peaceful nuclear energy including its delivery of safe, clean, reliable and efficient electricity to the UAE’s grid.
