Abu Dhabi’s Hotel Entertainment Licensing Goes On Line
(27 August 2009)
New ADTA System Streamlines Approvals To 24 Hours

Restaurants and night clubs within Abu Dhabi’s hotels will, from next week, be able to receive entertainment licences within 24 hours with the introduction of an Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) online initiative.

The move to online licence application reduces the previous manual system, which also involved other authorities and could take between 2 and 6 weeks to process.

“The on-line system, which can also process the necessary licence fee payments, is the result of 18 months of design, implementation and training,” said Nasser Al Reyami, Director, Tourism Standards, ADTA. “Its introduction is in line with our five-year strategy commitment to enhance sector standardisation and improve our stakeholder service.”

ADTA has held a series of workshops to train outlet managers on the system.

This online entertainment licensing is part of a series web-based initiatives being processed by the ADTA’s Tourism Standards Division. “Additional initiatives will be launched next year all with the aim of delivering greater efficiency to the licensing process,” added Al Reyami.
