Department of Health—Abu Dhabi (DoH), the regulator of the healthcare sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, today launched their inspiring new website powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) during Arab Health 2019. The fully integrated platform combines marketing and smart technology, with the aim to improve the users’ experience via an easy-to-follow user interface.
The new revamped website will equip users with easy access to daily healthcare news, covering medical innovations, and social and health awareness updates provided from knowledgeable professionals. Designed to facilitate access for the community, including health professionals and the general public, the website will serve as the single source of data for Abu Dhabi residents.
Harnessing the power of AI, the new website will deliver personalised content to users each time they access the platform based on their behaviour. With the ever growing importance of instant access to information, using cutting-edge user-tracking tools throughout the website will ensure that every interaction, behaviour, profile and activity within the community is captured and stored in a database, enabling powerful analytical insights that lead to exceptionally personalised customer engagement.
Commenting on the new launch, H.E Mohamed Al Hameli, Undersecretary of Department of Health said: “Looking at the healthcare sector globally, the future is headed towards AI. We strongly believe that AI will transform healthcare, and we are dedicated to driving this culture of innovation and inspiring cross-industrial collaboration. The recently introduced AI lab is the latest development in the Emirate’s healthcare sector, and a first-of-its-kind initiative designed to pave the way for innovative technologies to be used within the healthcare industry. Our newly-launched website is yet another service that brings us a step closer to supporting the UAE’s AI Agenda.”
In an effort to facilitate easy access to information, DoH has included the Cognitive Virtual Assistant (CVA), within the state-of-the-art new website, which is the second project to be developed and launched under the AI lab, following the launch of the My Health Coach.
Powered by artificial intelligence, the virtual assistant will be able to answer queries in Arabic and English with regards to facility and professional licensing. In the near future, this CVA will include all DoH services.
“With the aim to deliver a seamless experience, our customers can now have 24/7 access to relevant medical information at their fingertips. We are also excited to introduce the CVA as part of the website, an initiative created from a Design Thinking workshop to improve service delivery. We hope that moving forward, the website will serve as the easy, one-stop-shop access to all DoH services,” continued Al Hameli.
The new website will also feature contemporary technologies such the Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine Learning (ML) services. The site will operate seamlessly on any mobile device, delivering an advanced user experience across all channels.
Arab Health 2019 will see the participation of over 4,150 companies participating from 166 countries. Arab Health visitors at the DoH pavilion will be able to learn more about the latest programs and initiatives launched by the healthcare sector in the Emirate, and step into an immersive journey featuring several interactive AI experiences.
N.B.: DoH will be available in Arab Health 2019 at hall 05 stand B30.
