The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation began its Ramadan Iftar project, which aims to provide 31,700 meals daily, totalling 951,000 meals throughout the Holy Month.
The project, which was launched in cooperation with 317 Emirati families, has 102 distribution points across the country.
An official from the foundation said that 137 coordinators and supervisors will monitor the quality of meals provided, ensuring that their preparation and delivery is of the highest standard.
A supervising committee will also make surprise visits and supervise the preparations of meals, to ensure compliance with the requirements and guidelines of the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, the official added while noting that the foundation requires participating families to prioritise hygiene and food quality.
The foundation aims to empower the project’s participating families, to enable them to transform their work into permanent businesses and maximise their income.
