The Construction Cost Index, CCI, decreased by 0.1 percent in the fourth quarter of 2018 compared with the fourth quarter of 2017.
The index decreased from 98.0 percent in the fourth quarter of 2017 to 97.9 percent in the fourth quarter of 2018, according to figures released by Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi, SCAD, today.
The CCI decreased by 0.2 percent in the fourth quarter of 2018 compared with the third quarter of 2018. It also decreased from 98.1 percent in the third quarter of 2018 to 97.9 percent in the fourth quarter of 2018, SCAD indicated.
SCAD noted that Manpower group contributed by 297.6 percent in the overall decreased in the prices in the fourth quarter of 2018 compared with the third quarter of 2018, for which prices decreased by 2.2 percent, while the weight for this group is 29.5 percent.
The Services group contributed by 195.1 percent in reducing the overall decrease in the prices during the fourth quarter of 2018 compared with the third quarter of 2018. The prices of this group rose by 10.4 percent and the weight of this group is 4.5 percent.
The CCI is an important statistical indicator for the purposes of planning and research in various disciplines. SCAD compiles the CCI according to the ten main groups of the construction cost index basket with a base year of 2013.
