Etihad Airways and the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research, ECSSR, have teamed up to make some of the centre’s publications electronically available on its flights.
The airline plans to add more of the centre’s publications in the coming months.
The publications that are now available on board the planes include "With United Strength: H.H. Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, The Leader and the Nation" (in both Arabic and English); "Zayed the Founder" and "Milestones of Zayed".
The first publication explores the unique life journey of the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his role in establishing the Union, while "Zayed the Founder" sheds light on various aspects of the life of Sheikh Zayed.
"Milestones of Zayed" presents extracts from the life of Sheikh Zayed through storytelling, which was a common practice among the nation’s ancestors. The style of this book is somewhat different from what is commonly available in Arab libraries. The book includes numerous Sheikh Zayed stories in which he continually strives to improve the lives of all Emiratis by investing in them and the building of the nation.
On this occasion, Prof. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi, Director-General of the ECSSR, expressed his gratitude to Etihad Airways for making some of the centre’s most important publications available on its flights. He said that this would give passengers the opportunity to know more about the thought, philosophy, and achievements of Sheikh Zayed.
Al-Suwaidi added that the ECSSR is looking forward to enhancing its cooperation with Etihad Airways in other fields. He also confirmed the readiness of the centre to cooperate completely with all other institutions and entities for the sake of serving the UAE.
