Louvre Abu Dhabi has said that it is honoured to have been chosen as one of many historic landmarks to serve as the location for the Special Olympics ‘Flame of Hope’ relay.

As a universal museum, Louvre Abu Dhabi has a mission to foster tolerance and inclusivity. In the UAE, these values today are more important than ever, particularly with the celebration of the Year of Tolerance in 2019. In keeping with these values, Louvre Abu Dhabi welcomes people from all over the world and from all walks of life, including People of Determination.

The museum offers a range of tools and activities to become more accessible for People of Determination, who can enter the museum for free and are invited to bring a guest with them. Louvre Abu Dhabi has created multisensory guides including tours of the museum galleries and architecture for the hearing and visually impaired. In addition, the museum offers sensory tactile tours and stations, and even has a special newsletter dedicated to People of Determination.
