Ali Mabkhout was the United Arab Emirates' hero as his strike gave the hosts a historic 1-0 win over Australia for a place in the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 semi-finals on Friday.
UAE will meet Qatar in the semi-finals at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, today congratulated the UAE National Football Team on qualifying for the AFC Semi-Finals after their impressive win over title holders, Australia.
"UAE Knights are marvelously continuing to cleave their way to more differentiation with a new spectacular win! Congratulations to the Whites, their management team and all Emirati fans who were impressively there, supporting our National Team," Sheikh Hazza tweeted.
H.H. Sheikh Hazza attended the match Friday evening along with Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohamed Al Nahyan; Dr. Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State; Australian Ambassador to UAE, Arthur Spyrou; and a number of officials.
