The Abu Dhabi leg of the Emirates Longines Show Jumping League international championships is set to kick off today at 10 am at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club.
Held under the supervision of the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation (UAEERF), the CSI4*W competition will be held in the club’s outdoor sand arena. Taking place from 3rd – 5th January, the championship will see around 250 riders and horses from 30 different countries compete. The 16 round competition will permit riders to win titles and prizes worth a total of AED1,245,000.
This championship includes eight rounds of CSI4*W competitions for professional riders, with jumps between 130 - 160 cm and conclude with the qualifier, on Saturday, for the (CSI-W) Show Jumping World Cup that will be held in Sweden in April.
There will also be a number of two-round competitions for young horses between 6-7 years old (CSIYH1*) on Thursday and Friday; young riders (CSIY-A) on Thursday and Friday; junior riders (CSIJ-A) on Friday and Saturday; and children (CSICh-A) on Friday and Saturday.
