The health price index increased 3.1 percent to 103.1 percent in Q3 of 2018 from 100 percent in the corresponding period of 2017, according to figures released by the Statistics Centre- Abu Dhabi (SCAD).
A rise 4.7 percent in prices of medical products and equipment during the comparison period was behind the hike, with prices during Q3 being more stable comparatively with the preceding quarter.
In addition, pharmaceutical products as well as other medical services saw price increases during Q3, as shown by the SCAD figures.
The Emirate of Abu Dhabi has witnessed a remarkable development over the past decade in the medical sector on the back of opening a large number of hospitals and international medical centers.
