The Abu Dhabi Police, ADP, discussed a response plan for monitoring the radiation of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant and explored the readiness of relevant authorities and participating teams for emergency situations, according to set plans supervised by a radiation monitoring team.
The meeting, chaired by Colonel Hamdan Saif Al Mansouri, Director of the Criminal Security Sector of the Al Dhafra Police Directorate, saw a presentation on emergency scenarios, as well as how to deal with nuclear emergencies in the external environment, ways of monitoring radiation, and deploying fixed and mobile disinfection units.
Colonel Al Mansouri highlighted the importance of conducting practical exercises and their role in measuring overall readiness for emergencies.
He also praised the radiation monitoring team, which includes members from the Armed Forces, the Al Dhafra Police Directorate, the Environment Authority – Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, Nawah Energy, the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, and the Nuclear Security Section of Al Rowais Police Station.
