Leveraging Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi’s (KIZAD) strategic location, lower operating costs and optimal road networks, Amana, the regional industrial and modular construction leader, recently established a 50,000 sqm facility to serve the GCC construction market.
The facility located in KIZAD Construction City will serve as Amana’s central storage and logistics headquarter to store and distribute a range of construction products to its large-scale industrial, modular and commercial projects across the UAE and region. Established in 1993, Amana has successfully delivered over 1,500 commercial, modular and industrial projects across the region.
“It was clear to us that KIZAD is the ideal location for setting up our storage and logistic facilities due to a number of key factors including, competitive pricing, lower operating costs, proximity to our projects, easy access to the UAE’s road networks, and closeness to Khalifa port,” said Amana General Manager, Plant & Logistics, Bassam Bsaibes.
“In addition, KIZAD was able to provide ample land for our operations with room for further growth, expansion and development to support our growing business needs,” stated Bsaibes.
Samir Chaturvedi, KIZAD CEO, said: “We are delighted that an industry leader such as Amana has chosen KIZAD for its efficient, tailor-made and cost-effective solutions. With increasing demand for improved material sourcing, storage and distribution solutions, KIZAD Construction City is well positioned to serve the construction industry.”
KIZAD Construction City’s ideal location offers logistical savings and supply chain efficiency for imports as well as strategic connection to 90% of the UAE’s main construction projects. Uncongested highways offer easy truck route access right across the emirates.
Launched this year, KIZAD Construction City is responding to the needs of the region’s construction industry and serves as a laydown space for construction material, machinery and equipment for major construction projects. It is adjacent to Khalifa Port, one of the Middle East’s fastest growing logistics hubs, and is a short distance from the recently expanded Abu Dhabi Airport and major hub airports.
