Ahmed Mohammed Al Khouri, Director General of the of the Federal Transport Authority – Land & Maritime, has received Patrick Mallejacq, Secretary General of the World Road Association (PIARC), to discuss prospects for joint cooperation, particularly in transfer of technical knowledge about safety and sustainability.

Arrangements for hosting the XXVIth World Road Congress in Abu Dhabi from 6th to 10th October 2019 were also discussed.

To be held under the theme "Connecting Cultures - Enabling Economies", the five-day conference will include around 50 sessions, a large exhibition, technical visits and social activities.

PIARC is a non-political and non-profit making Association, established in 1909 to promote international cooperation on issues related to roads and road transport. In 2018, PIARC has 121 member governments.
