Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company, ADNEC, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with Bonnier Corporation to host the Sand Sports Super Show Middle East at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in 2020.
The agreement was signed during ADNEC’s visit to the United States, in line with its efforts to promote Abu Dhabi’s leading position in the Middle East as the regional capital for high-profile international exhibitions and conferences.
The MoU was signed by Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Group CEO of ADNEC, and Jonathan Moore, Senior Vice President of Events for Bonnier Corporation at the Sand Sports Super Show in the US, in the presence of officials and senior executives of both companies.
Commenting on the MoU, Humaid Al Dhaheri said, "We are pleased to sign this agreement to attract one of the world's leading sand sports events, which will be held for the first time in the Middle East. The inaugural event will be launched in Abu Dhabi by 2020. The MoU underscores ADNEC's strong capability to provide the ideal venues that attract global events and exhibitions from various sectors.
These activities contribute to meeting the objectives set by Abu Dhabi Plan and its Economic Vision 2030 to further enhance the emirate’s global prominence as a leading destination for international exhibitions and conferences in the Middle East and North Africa region."
Al Dhaheri emphasised that Abu Dhabi's hosting of such prestigious events reflects the efforts of ADNEC and various public and private entities in the UAE to expand the reach of the emirate’s business tourism sector. By encouraging and supporting new exhibitions and conferences, the business tourism sector is seen to boost its direct economic contribution to the national economy and bring about sustainable development.
"We are delighted to sign a cooperative agreement with ADNEC, which will host our inaugural event in the region, the Sand Sports Super Show Middle East in 2020," said Jonathan.
