Labour Minister HE Saqr Ghobash Saeed Ghobash issued today a circular declaring Sunday, 19th July 2009, as a public holiday for the private sector to mark ’Isra and Miraj’.

All workers and employees in the private sector will be entitled to a fully paid holiday on Sunday, said the circular referring to Article 74 of the Federal Law No. 8 (Year 1980) regulating labour relations.

On this glorious occasion, the ministry extended profound greetings to President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Their Highnesses the UAE Supreme Council members and rulers of emirates, and prayed to Allah Almighty to shower His blessings on them and all the people of the country.
