Abu Dhabi University (ADU), an internationally recognized academic institution for quality education and applied research,organized a field trip for 12 students from its Master of Strategic Leadership program to Milan and Northern Italy.
Enabling the participants to explore leadership challenges in aglobal context,the one-week trip comprisedvisits tomajor global institutions, such asglobal consulting companies TMF and Accenture, the international restaurant chainCa’Puccino, the racing car makerDallara, the Ferrari Museum, MacArthurGlen’s largest fashion outlet in Europe at Serravalle. The participants met with top executives from each institution to learn how to address global leadership challenges. The program also featured lectures by Prof. Marco Novarese from Universita’ del Piemonte Orientale, Mr. Elio Vera founder of executive education boutique CESMA, and Mr. Paolo Gallo, the Chief HR Officer of the World Economic Forum.
Dr Alessandro Lanteri, Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at ADU’s College of Business, arranged the trip to his home country.He is also an advisor to the World Economic Forum, an expert for the World Economic Survey, a TEDx Speaker, and a business consultant. His research focuses on innovation and leadership and has been published by top international journals and publishers, including Harvard Business Review Arabia, LSE Business Review, World Economic Forum Agenda and Forbes. His next book “Strategic Drivers for the Digital Era” will be published in 2019.
Dr Lanterisaid: “The inaugural annual field trip, organizedin collaboration with several prestigious universities, aspired to enhance post-graduate students’ understandingof the fundamentals of international management, and the challenges posed by the growing phenomenon of globalization and its impact on local economies. Furthermore, it enabled the participants to learn from success stories from across the globe.”
He added: “The initiative aligns with the UAE’s objective of enhancing its global standing and our government’s vision of broadening UAE’s eminent experience as a knowledge-based economy.”
In 2016, ADU’sCollege of Business launched the Master’s program in Strategic Leadership with the aim ofpreparingprofessionals to take onpositions of responsibility in public and private sector entitiesthrough equipping them with strategic leadership skills. The program teaches students to apply the concepts, theories and best practices of leadership and organizational behavior, and address organizational issues related to the latest trends shaping the workplace,such as multiculturalism.
