The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has been awarded a top honour at the annual Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Awards for its destination brand campaign.
The winners of the 2018 PATA Grand and Gold Awards were announced this week by organisers, with DCT Abu Dhabi triumphing in the Gold category after an independent judging committee consisting of fourteen senior executives from the travel, tourism and hospitality sectors recognised the ‘Your Extraordinary Story’ campaign as a winner in the “Marketing – Secondary Government Destination”.
This year’s PATA Awards recognised the achievements of 27 separate organisations and individuals, and now DCT Abu Dhabi representatives can look forward to receiving this prestigious accolade at a lavish awards ceremony, which will take place in Langkawi, Malaysia on Friday, September 14th, which coincides with the PATA Travel Mart 2018.
“A key part of DCT Abu Dhabi’s recent marketing focus was the launch of our ‘Your Extraordinary Story ‘ brand campaign, as we promote the emirate as a destination of distinction for both leisure and business travellers,” said HE Saif Saeed Ghobash,
Undersecretary of DCT Abi Dhabi. “By presenting Abu Dhabi as a place that will surprise and delight we look to connect with travelers who value engaging with a destination and its culture and heritage, and we are delighted the work we put in to our ‘extraordinary’ campaign has been recognised by such a prestigious association.
“This award is a wonderful accolade to receive, as it demonstrates that our insight and extensive efforts are having an impact at an international level.”
