Abu Dhabi Waste Management Centre, Tadweer, will support the 14th edition of the Liwa Date Festival as a sponsor and strategic partner.

Organised by the Cultural Programmes and Heritage Festivals Committee – Abu Dhabi, the event is set to run from 18th - 28th July, in Liwa City in Al Dhafra Region, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.

With its participation in the festival, Tadweer aims to raise awareness of waste management and control of public health pests, educate visitors about safe and effective waste collection practices, and instill recycling habits among the community to preserve an aesthetic appearance of the emirate of Abu Dhabi. The centre seeks to teach farm owners and supervisors about the proper handling and recycling of farm waste with the objective of supporting Abu Dhabi's economy and building a globally competitive sustainable society.

Dr. Salem Khalfan Al Kaabi, Acting General Manager of Tadweer, said, "Tadweer’s participation in the Liwa Date Festival aligns with its role as a government institution that is responsible for establishing a sustainable waste management system and contribute to achieving a balance between development and environmental conservation – an approach adopted by the UAE's Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Our objective is to preserve a sustainable and healthy environment for future generations as per the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030."

Tadweer will have a dedicated pavilion at the event, hosting a series of awareness activities and highlighting the centre’s projects and initiatives in the environmental field. Social activists will be on hand to promote a sustainability mindset. Tadweer will also organise competitions on the main festival stage and announce a new awareness campaign
