Center Of Waste Management - Abu Dhabi Honors ’Tadweer Ambassadors’ Volunteers ’

Special ceremony highlights role of individuals and companies in supporting integrated waste management and environmental sustainability in Abu Dhabi

 

Tadweer (Center of Waste Management – Abu Dhabi) honored 16 participants of the Tadweer Ambassadors program as part of its efforts to highlight the role of individuals and companies in supporting integrated waste management, environmental sustainability and conservation of natural resources.

At a special ceremony at the center's headquarters in Abu Dhabi, Tadweer presented certificates of appreciation to the volunteers who dedicated their time and effort to contribute to the sustainable development of the UAE.  

Dr Salem Al Kaabi, Acting General Manager of Tadweer, said: "As a progressive organization, Tadweer recognizes the importance of volunteering as an essential component of the development of modern societies. As part of our Year of Zayed activities, we launched the Tadweer Ambassadors program to promote the vision and values ​​of the founding father of the UAE, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. To ensure the continuity and lasting impact of our strategic programs and initiatives, we seek to motivate the young generation to get inspired by Sheikh Zayed's selfless dedication towards community welfare and continue his noble legacy."

He added: "As part of the program, we invited youth volunteers to leverage their skills and expertise to promote environmental sustainability in Abu Dhabi. Through the award ceremony, we aim to express our sincere appreciation for our Tadweer Ambassadors, who were instrumental in the success of our volunteering initiatives."

The program drew the participation of several Abu Dhabi companies. Mondo Media Production developed Tadweer's animated logo, Popcorn printed an environmental awareness story titled 'Green and Black' on more than 70,000 popcorn packs, and Kibreet Media produced an awareness video about plastic.

In addition, multiple individual volunteers joined Tadweer Ambassadors. Tejas Ravish introduced Tadweer's services at universities and schools, and Abdul Rahim Salman Abdul Karim distributed meals and gifts to orphans and blue-collar workers. Meanwhile, Methaa Al Mazroui, Noura Al Ali and Nouf Al Rifai hosted awareness workshops for diverse segments of society.

Furthermore, Hadi Al Ahbabi produced furniture from recycled materials in addition to promoting Tadweer's offering at schools and universities, Ahmed Khalifa Al Azani made tools from recycled materials, Abdullah Al Hashemi designed 10 shields from recycled bicycle tires, and Marzouk Mohammed Al Mansouri collected 760 kilograms of recyclable materials.

Tadweer also honored several creators of impactful awareness videos. Sultan Jamal Al Ameri produced videos about waste collection during Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr with the support of Nayef Al Kathiri and Khaled Al Harithy, while Ali Habib Al Hashimi shot a video about waste segregation and a short film titled 'A Day with a Cleaner' in collaboration with Saeed Abdullah Al Ameri, and Yaser Taaleb Al Ameri made a video about desert clean-up efforts.
