Fifteen industrial facilities entered production in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi during Q1 2018, an increase of 275 percent from the corresponding period last year, says a report by the Industrial Development Bureau (IDB), an affiliate of Department of Economic Development (DED). The total investment value was around AED492.8 million.
Engineer Ahmad Albloushi, the Acting Executive Director of Industrial Development Bureau, has emphasised the keenness of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to strengthen the role of the industrial sector as one of the significant engines of Abu Dhabi economy.
He underlined the Abu Dhabi government's determination to support the industrial sector by adopting projects and initiatives that enhance competitiveness in the emirate and fulfill the goals and objectives of Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030.
The report indicated that the total number of "industry leaders" licenses issued during the first quarter of 2018 is 42 compared to 13 licenses in the same quarter of 2017, representing a 220 percent increase.
