National Ambulance, the leading emergency care provider in the UAE, has won a global award for its learning management system (LMS).
Presented earlier this month at National Ambulance Head Quarters in Abu Dhabi, National Ambulance was recognised with the Totara Best Healthcare project award for 2017 following a significant rise in educational competence.
Following the adoption of Totara LMS, National Ambulance worked with ilearn Middle East to develop a new bespoke learning platform for blended and self-directed learning catering to the needs of all pre-hospital practitioners. The new platform gave National Ambulance an improved management of all training activities, efficient data collection, individual evaluation, certification and automatic renewals. As a result, health and safety training compliance reached 98 percent, and the average pass rate for exams rose on average from 75 to 92 percent.
"National Ambulance's employees put their knowledge to the test on a daily basis to save the lives of the public. This award is a recognition of the importance we place on excellence and reflects our employees' commitment to continually looking to improve all that we do. Our learning management system has revolutionised our performance, which, in turn, enhances the service we provide to our customers," said Ahmed Saleh Al Hajeri Deputy CEO of National Ambulance.
National Ambulance chose to work with ilearn to help them deliver an LMS which would enable them to create content targeted at different audiences. A robust Totara Learning platform was put in place to enhance learning at the entire organisation by supporting the delivery of learning content to multiple audiences. Through the new system, National Ambulance was able to create different and targeted learning content to each grade of learners to meet their needs and support them to complete their required education competencies in the required licensing period, with renewal every two years.
As part of the Totara Learning platform, records and feedback were made available to National Ambulance. The ability to show results and completion percentages and track progress was crucial to help the emergency care provider track knowledge, understanding and any gaps in the skills across the entire organisation.
Commenting on the awards, Ayman Al Kurdi, Senior Director at iLearn Middle East, a platinum regional partner for Totara Learning, said, "Totara awards recognise the best projects delivering world-class solutions in key industry sectors around the globe. National Ambulance set the benchmark in a number of areas and, deservedly, are winners of the best LMS project award in the international healthcare sector in 2017. This award is a recognition of the continuous efforts made in developing innovative learning solutions in the healthcare sector in partnership with National Ambulance.
