ERC Launches ’Tree Of Blessings’ Initiative
(16 May 2018)

The Emirates Red Crescent has launched the "Tree of Blessings", an initiative demonstrating the inexhaustible well of giving the UAE is representing to the whole world.

The initiative, organised for the third year running at Al Wahda Mall in the UAE capital, takes the form of a tree, the leaves of which are made of pieces of paper carrying quotes by late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nayan. A fund-raising box is placed next to the tree where donors take two papers, placing one of them on the tree, while keeping the other to demonstrate that the values of giving and charity will remain indelible and deeply rooted in the country's immortal legacy of volunteerism.

Rashid Mubarak Al Mansouri, ERC Deputy Secretary General for Local Affairs, said the initiative demonstrates the social role assumed by the UAE premier humanitarian aid arm in the country, where it is sparing no effort to inculcate the positive values of giving, charity and volunteerism among different segments of society.

Al Mansouri valued the monumental support provided by the country's wise leadership for the wide spectrum of humanitarian initiatives organised by the ERC, calling upon state and non-state departments to intensify their contributions and continue to stand by the needy and underprivileged.
