The Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health Centre, OSHAD, has received the "International Safety Award" for the fourth consecutive year, which reflects the efforts of Abu Dhabi to promote occupational safety and health, as well as its commitment to its responsibilities to monitor employee safety and health standards.
The award, which was presented by the British Safety Council, is a major international award given to leading authorities in adopting the best standards and practices in occupational safety and health.
The centre’s ongoing support has contributed to raising the efficiency of local authorities in adopting the emirate’s occupational safety and health requirements, which have also contributed to transforming occupational safety and health practices into a comprehensive working methodology that was adopted by the centre, in cooperation with its partners that include local government authorities and private sector companies.
The centre also aims to promote its efforts by launching relevant awareness initiatives, as well as the efforts of local authorities to implement the emirate’s standards.
Dr. Jaber Eidha Al Jaberi, Director-General of OSHAD, stated that the award will reinforce the centre’s position as a leading authority responsible for developing global occupational safety and health practices, which will add to its responsibilities to raise and promote awareness about such practices.
