H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, attended on Saturday the closing ceremony of the 10th edition of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2018 held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The event, held at the Mubadala Arena at the Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi, was attended by Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Sheikh Hamdan bin Sultan Al Nahyan; Sheikh Khalifa bin Sultan bin Shakhbout Al Nahyan; Sheikh Tariq bin Faisal Al Qasimi; Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Industry; Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment; Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khuyaili, Chairman of Community Development Department, and other officials, attended the event.
Sheikh Nahyan crowned the winners of the black belt of men and women's adult.
On the occasion, Sheikh Nahyan extended thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his constant support for the sports sector and Jiu-Jitu in particular.
He also congratulated all the winners of this edition of the tournament, stressing that the championship is continuously achieving notable progress year after year and contributing to providing rich expertise and experiences for all participants around the world.
He emphasised that thanks to the continuous support of the wise leadership, Jiu-Jitsu was able to accomplish an exceptional experience and has become a role model among other sports.
