Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) at the Department of Economic Development, DED Abu Dhabi, will be participating in the Annual Investment Meeting, AIM, events 2018.
The annual meeting will be organised at Dubai World Trade Centre between 9th - 11th April, as part of an initiative by the Ministry of Economy and under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
Khalifa bin Salem Al Mansouri, the DED Under-Secretary, said that the participation of the ADIO in the meeting is part of its duties and responsibilities that aim to attract more direct foreign investments to the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, particularly in the non-oil sector, which reflects the meeting’s slogan that focuses on the fulfillment of partnerships to achieve overall growth and sustainable development.
He also pointed out that the scale of direct foreign investment flow in Abu Dhabi has exceeded AED95 billion (US$25.9 billion) in 2016 as per the Statistics Centre of Abu Dhabi. The ADIO will be working on increasing this value over the next years by providing more opportunities and incentives to attract direct foreign investments to the emirate.
Al Mansouri explained that the investment forum is an appropriate platform to promote investment in the emirate especially in the non-oil sector represented in infrastructure and industry projects, small and medium enterprises, technology and innovation, among others.
He added that ADIO's "Invest in Abu Dhabi" provides investors with valuable information on the investment environment in Abu Dhabi, and data on all economic sectors and future projects in the emirate. It also studies the investors’ needs and determines the type of investment required and linked it to projects implemented by government and semi-government bodies and the private sector, thus contributing to strengthening the relationship with potential foreign investors.
Through its platform, the ADIO offers its services to potential investors and introduces the targeted sectors and investment projects, in addition to the facilitations and incentives that Abu Dhabi Government provides in order to attract more direct foreign investments to Abu Dhabi.
