Pyramedia, announce today the start of a pilot internship scheme for media and communications students around the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. In an effort to create more hands-on training opportunities for students interested in entering the fields of media and communications, Pyramedia will be offering a number of internships at it’s production base in Abu Dhabi. The initial internship scheme is the beginning of a long-term strategy to create more opportunities for students and recent graduates with the aim of giving them valuable work experience and an insight into media production.
Recently, Pyramedia opened its doors to two Marketing students from Abu Dhabi University. The two students join the company for a month-long internship as part of a course requirement for graduation. Seven grade 12 students from Al Khubairat-British School Abu Dhabi have also joined the company for a week-long training period. As a television production company that provides in-house services such as advertising, marketing and PR in addition to production and post-production services, Pyramedia has a full team of trained individuals with extensive knowledge of the many complicated facets of the media industry.
Rotating between the many departments of Pyramedia, the students will experience as much as possible about the inner workings of the media industry. They will learn about the various steps it takes to produce, market and publicize a Pyramedia project such as the highly-acclaimed Millions’ Poet and Prince of Poets, which is currently airing on Abu Dhabi TV.
In 2008 Pyramedia took in a students from the British School (Al Khubairat) to experience the various production departments, the students later went on to take part in volunteer positions at the Middle East International Film Festival which Pyramedia event managed in 2007 and 2008.
As Abu Dhabi becomes a center for media and culture in the Middle East, Pyramedia hopes to help educate its students in the various aspects of the media by providing training initiatives with the aim of cultivating their talents and preparing them for a challenging future in the media industry.
