Abu Dhabi will host the Sustainable Business Leadership Forum on 21st and 22nd February.
Organised by the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Group, ADSG, forum attendees will discuss the theme, "Taking Nature into Account," with the participation of 200 executive directors, sustainability experts and decision-makers from various institutions in the UAE and the region.
This year’s forum, supported by the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi, EAD, will focus on the importance of the environment for the business sector, by looking into natural capital to drive sustainable growth.
The forum will discuss the exchange of knowledge and innovative visions to inspire its participants and partners, to ensure their success in achieving sustainability by integrating environmental considerations in the planning and decision-making process of their business activities, as well as to provide a sustainable future and assess the opportunities and risks associated with natural capital accounting and its latest developments.
Dr. Abdullah Zamzam, Assistant Secretary-General of Operations at the EAD, said that this year’s forum will highlight the importance of considering the impact of natural capital accounting in the decision-making process and commercial reporting, which will help companies to innovate their response to sustainability issues, reduce expenses and risks, and improve profits, as well as enhance their reputation and institutional stature. He added that the forum will be a key event, in terms of connecting relevant authorities and exchanging expertise and knowledge in related practices and sustainability management initiatives.
Huda Al Houqani, Director of the ADSG, said that the theme of this year’s forum is inspired by the growing importance of a natural capital approach in the public and private sectors. "Innovative institutions transform risks into opportunities and create a competitive advantage," she added.
