ALHOSN University, a leading Abu Dhabi-based university dedicated to high-quality, value-based education, has launched an awareness campaign in support of the UAE Government’s commitment to build a knowledge-based society. Marking the first leg of the university’s initiative is the opening of an information booth managed by ALHOSN University’s students, at Marina Mall, Abu Dhabi. Open daily from May 28 to June 27, 2009, the booth will host activities that will introduce the various programs being offered by the university to those seeking top quality higher education options.
Committed to impart high quality education through programs developed in collaboration with international scholars, ALHOSN University offers a total of 11 undergraduate and 7 graduate programs, including new graduate engineering programs, all of which have been accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The University also encourages female students who want to pursue a career in the field of engineering, caters to special needs students and provides scholarships to underprivileged but deserving students.
“The consistent rise in the fund allocation for the education sector by the UAE Government is a testament to the government’s increasing focus on academic expansion, and we are committed to supporting this by continually developing our offerings,” said Prof. Abdul Rahim Sabouni, Vice Chancellor, ALHOSN University. “As an academic organisation which believes in the values of global knowledge combined with local traditions, we are keen to reach out to young people through activities such as the one we are conducting at the Marina Mall, and thus reinforce the importance of quality education to succeed in the increasingly competitive corporate world.”
The rapid expansion of the UAE higher education sector is driven primarily by the consistent growth in student population due to rising student in-take in public schools, fall in drop-out rates, government’s strong ‘Emiratisation’ drive, and the country¹s growing expatriate population. With aims to address the holistic academic needs of each of the students, ALHOSN University is actively staging activities to harness their various interests and sociological awareness, including events such as ‘Software Engineering Information Day’, ‘International Day’, ‘Women in Engineering Event’, ‘Earth Day’, ‘ Elite Exhibition, and the ‘Seminar on Construction of Tall Buildings’.
