The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi has announced that regional superstars Hussain Al Jassmi and Tamer Hosny will be the lead acts to ring in the New Year at special concerts on Abu Dhabi Breakwater at the Corniche.

Emirati singing star Al Jassmi and Egyptian music sensation Hosny will headline the closing of a four-day spectacular celebrations. Taking place from Thursday 28 – Sunday 31 December, the Abu Dhabi Corniche will be transformed into the Emirate’s first-ever New Year’s Eve Countdown Village featuring three stages, a retail zone, F&B area, roaming entertainers, spectacular firework displays and New Year’s Eve countdown timer. The celebrations will conclude on Sunday, December 31 with a 90-minute concerts, led by Hosny and Al Jassmi and supported by several other local performers, bands and DJs still to be revealed. This will be followed by a stunning laser, lights and confetti shower extravaganza as well as a memorable 10-minute firework display with dazzling pyrotechnic effects to create an unforgettable start to 2018.

In addition to captivating performances from regional and local performers, bands and DJs, the Village will also feature an entertaining mix of fun family activities throughout the four days through which visitors can interact with or experience to unleash their hidden potentials, change their perspectives as well as engage in new experiences. It will also be home to a dedicated flagship retail zone hosting more than 40 retailers –  who some will be debuting new concepts for Abu Dhabi – to create an essential urban experience. Guests will enjoy a variety of thrilling entertainment acts as performers roam across various zones delivering interactive spectacles as well as firework show. Families can also participate in more than 15 hands-on activities. Visitors will also enjoy a delectable culinary experience with a dedicated F&B zone bringing together more than 50 outlets to satisfy every palate.
