The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi has today announced the full programme for the first-ever Dar Al Zain Festivaltaking place at Al Ain Convention Centre. Running between December 14th and 23rd, the festival will offer a unique experience for family members of all ages.

This winter season, the Al Ain Region will host an outdoor village that will be packed with live entertainment, craft stalls, and culinary delights, with the Garden City hosting families from across the UAE and wider region for a fun-filled ten days.

Sultan Al Dhaheri, Acting Executive Director for the Tourism Sector at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, said: “We are proud to launch the first-ever Dar Al Zain Festival, which promises to quickly become a fixture in the city’s events calendar during the winter season. This unique and comprehensive family event further cements Al Ain Region’s position as a leading destination for family entertainment and leisure activities. We are confident this festival will help boost footfall to the city, especially from the other emirates of the UAE, and also from across the wider GCC region.”

This family getaway will feature a rich mix of entertainment activities including four live performances by Arab celebrities, 20 kids’ entertainment shows, and a host of unique family leisure experiences. It will also have more than 30 operators serving delectable menus in kiosks and food trucks to delight visitors as they enjoy shopping from over 45 exhibitors in the flagship retail zone.

Live Performances

A line-up of top stars will be performing live in front of festival-goers with the programme featuring special performances by Arab celebrities including singer Myriam Fares, who will kick off the festival on December 14th, followed by the pop star Mohamed Al Shehhi on December 15th.  singer Balqees Fathi will perform on December 22nd, with singer Majid Al Mohandis closing the festival on December 23rd.

Kids Entertainment Shows

Children will be able to enjoy a dedicated playground area as well as take part in the festival’s many activations. More than 20 curated shows featuring popular characters and stories have been especially designed to create the most fun-filled family experience. Iftah Ya Simsim – Simsim Outerspace will engage kids in competitions and science-themed activities, such as the magnetic puzzle wall, invisible ink game, the giant keeps active dice, and many others. The “Little Tweety Hood” by Looney Tunes will present the classic tale of Little Red Riding Hood retold with Looney Tunes characters.  Children will also enjoy meeting My Little Pony in a 20-minute live and interactive musical adventure starring Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Spike and Applejack.

Gastronomic Delights

Visitors will enjoy a gastronomic experience rich in flavour, with a dedicated food and beverage zone bringing together more than 30 operators in a unique setting to cater to all tastes. Kiosks and food trucks will offer fantastic food options to satisfy every palate.

Family Leisure Experiences

The festival village will be home to a flagship retail zone, which will host more than 45 exhibitors. Family members of all ages will not only enjoy fun-filled moments but will get the chance to snap some amazing pictures when visiting the flagship Glow Theme Flower Gardens and Maze. This celebration of light and colour is expected to become one of the main attractions of the festival.

Adult tickets to the Dar Al Zain Festival are AED 30 on weekends and AED 15 on weekdays. Children under 12 years will pay AED 15 only, while those under 6 get in free. Groups of five or more will benefit from a 20% discount on tickets.
