Agthia Group PJSC ('Agthia'), one of the UAE's leading food and beverage groups, has graduated 11 UAE nationals in the second year of their Career Enhancement Program (CEP). As a culmination of the program, the graduating class presented their projects to senior management ahead of the certificate presentation ceremony.
CEP is an internal leadership development program aimed to accelerate the careers of high-performing Emirati employees within the Group. Launched in April last year, and run by the Agthia Academy, an in-house employee development and training center, the first class of CEP graduated in November 2016.
Eng. Tariq Ahmed Al Wahedi, Chief Executive Officer of Agthia Group said, "This programme directly addresses one of the UAE's most pressing challenges, which is to guide and encourage young Emiratis in the workplace. Teaching young people about leadership skills and business is key to building their own job security and an economically prosperous future".
Mubarak Al Mansoori, Senior Vice President - Human Capital & Organisation Development at Agthia added, "With every edition of the CEP, we are equipping our future leaders across all levels to best utilize their skill set and accelerate their careers with us. Succession planning is an essential part of best practice in management. In our mission to become the most valued company in our sector, we want to make sure that our growth is secure, sustainable and always in capable hands".
The CEP delegates went through a series of intensive developmental modules over a period of eight months. The six modules included a focus on developing management skills, including strategic thinking, finance, public speaking and project management. The employees took part in self-assessment sessions, team projects, technical skills training and coaching.
Agthia currently employs 180 UAE nationals. The company manages a world class portfolio of integrated businesses manufacturing and distributing high-quality trusted food and beverage products for customers across the UAE, GCC, Turkey and the wider Middle East.
