The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) organised on Friday the 7th National Women's Health Conference under the theme ''The Year of Giving" - Chasing the Zero Harm Approach''.??? Held by Tawam Hospital, one of SEHA's facilities, the conference aims to raise awareness of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the main problems affecting women's health in the UAE.
Nellie Boma, Chief Quality Officer & Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Tawam Hospital, told Emirates News Agency, WAM, that discussions over two-days will primarily focus on diabetes in women, cancers (breast and cervical), negative impact of smoking and kidney diseases on women's health.
More than 1000 physicians, allied health professionals, nurses, health care administrators, quality and safety officers, residents and students gathered to interact and engage in important discussions on primary, secondary and tertiary prevention strategies based on evidence-based practices.
Participants will discuss research papers on Genetic Disease in Women in the UAE – Prevention Strategies; Diabetes in Women – A Medical and Economic Burden; Kidney Disease Burden in Women; Bleeding Disorder – A Burden on Women; Diabetes in Pregnancy;Obesity in Women: Its Risks and Consequences and Smoking in Women A Critical Threat.
