A high-level delegation from Japan headed by Shigehiro Tanaka, Director-General for Trade Policy Bureau of Japan, has visited the Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi, KIZAD, for a briefing on its role and that of its free zone, KPFTZ, in supporting trade development and in helping more companies to grow and access more markets from this strategic location.
The delegation was welcomed by Abu Dhabi Ports, the master developer, operator and manager of commercial and community ports within the emirate of Abu Dhabi, as well as Fujairah Terminals and the Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi, KIZAD.
During his visit, Tanaka also attended a ceremony to mark the arrival of the first shipment of steel plates from Japan for the Al Gharbia Pipe Company. Tanaka said, "It is a great honour to be invited to this event celebrating the symbolic collaboration between Japan and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Japan fully supports Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030, aiming to build a sustainable economy through the diversification of industry. The Khalifa Port is emerging as a new gateway to Abu Dhabi and plays a central role for the connectivity of the UAE and the region."

Tanaka also took advantage of his visit to KIZAD to tour the Al Gharbia Pipe Company’s site.
