HE Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism, met with HE Philip Parham, UK Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, today to discuss bilateral ties and how to further collaborate on business and tourism initiatives.
The Ambassador was received at the Department of Culture and Tourism’s headquarters at Nation Towers, Abu Dhabi on Wednesday afternoon. HE Al Mubarak described the meeting as aimed at strengthening the excellent relationship between the two countries, as well as developing the trust and mutual cooperation they have across all sectors and activities, specifically in tourism and culture.
The UK is Abu Dhabi’s third largest international source market for hotel guests with 150,000 plus British visitors to the emirate in the first eight months of 2017, accounting for more than half a million guest nights. The emirate is continuing to witness an upsurge in visitors from the UK, with a 5% increase from January to August this year compared to the corresponding period in 2016.
