Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi hosts a range of activities and promotions throughout October in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Held in partnership with Pink Caravan, a pan-UAE breast cancer awareness initiative by the Friends of Cancer Patients, the hotel will kick-off the activities from this week, including a donation-based yoga class.
Join Hatha and Hatha Vinyasa Yoga expert, Isabel Lourenco, this Saturday, October 14 for the one hour morning class at 9:30 am. The event, open to all levels, will introduce yoga fans to the life-changing work of the Pink Caravan initiative and requests a minimum donation of AED 40 from participants, which will be donated to the charity.
With one in eight women developing breast cancer over the course of her lifetime*, the five star hotel will also operate free screening sessions on Thursday, October 12 from 2:00pm - 7:00 pm to help raise awareness about breast cancer and encourage people to get checked.
The following day, October 13, Shangri-La Hotel Qaryat Al Beri's all-day dining restaurant, Sofra bld, will host a special brunch that will encourage diners to make a donation towards the Pink Caravan charity.
In addition to its vast spread of around the world cuisine, the team at Sofra Bld, will be plating up incredible pink deserts in line with the "Pinktober" theme. The hotel's Lobby Lounge will also get involved with themed activity, serving Pink Afternoon Tea daily, starting from today.
Also as part of the breast cancer awareness month, guests staying at the five-star hotel will have the chance to win a range of amazing prizes on offer, including vouchers from Shangri-La properties around the world as well as Estée Lauder Companies.
Guests that stay in the five-star hotel are invited to donate a minimum of AED 20 via the donation vouchers located across the hotel. They will then gain an automatic entry into the raffle set up in the hotel lobby, which will be drawn on November 1st.
